Regional Work

Our regional work builds on both our state and local advocacy work by enabling members of the same general region to coordinate implementation or advocacy efforts at the regional level to maximize the impact of our state work and prevent unnecessary overlapping of local work.

Connect with BEEP’s regional contact

Bay Area Air District Zero-Emission Appliance Rules

BAQQMD’s appliance rules require reductions in NOx emissions from residential and commercial water heaters and furnaces, effectively requiring electric appliances. Emerald Cities Collaborative Northern California is a member of the Implementation Working Group, overseeing the implementation of the appliance rules.

CEC Equitable Building Decarbonization Program Implementation

BEEP members coordinate at the regional level, namely through CEC’s Equitable Building Decarbonization Program where a number of members serve on the program implementation teams for the Northern and Southern regions.

CPUC Community Listening Sessions

BEEP collaborated with the CPUC to hold community listening sessions in the San Joaquin Valley, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and statewide (as a virtual webinar) to help inform the CPUC’s Building Decarbonization Proceeding, San Joaquin Valley Affordable Energy Proceeding, and BEEP’s other state agency efforts.
